FAST BLASTS TO 2ND PLACE TEAM AND CHOW WOWS WITH 2 TEAM RECORDS

Brian Brown

With the excellent combined efforts of 91 swimmers, FAST moved into a second place finish at the Sprint Cup Invitational Meet two weekends ago.  The event featured lots of prelims and finals opportunities for our athletes, which is a great learning environment because everyone knows "Champions swim faster at night!"

Senior Kailee Chow continued her assault on the 17-18/Open 200 Yard Butterfly team record which she set in mid-November.  Kailee broke her new mark with a prelim swim of 2:00.43 (Previous Record: Kailee Chow -- 2:01.50, 11/7/21) and then went faster at night, clocking 2:00.12 in the finals, nearly breaking the 2:00 barrier (you can see those extra thirteen hundredths in her expression)!

Highlights:

  • 52% best times team-wide
  • 109 New USAS NAG Times (43 "B", 44 "BB", 19 "A", 3 "AA")

Congratulations to all the FAST athletes and thanks to the parents who helped provide these chances for our swimmers!
