CHAI SWIMS THREE TEAM RECORDS AT USAS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TRIALS

Last week in Greensboro, NC Matthew Chai set three team records and claimed two Top-8 finishes in the USA Swimming World Championship Trials event.
Posting 100% best times in three events, Matthew finished 5th (1500M Free), 7th (800M Free), and 17th (400M Free) and was one of the top 18U swimmers in the meet.
The new FAST 17-18 team records achieved by the Cal-bound senior are:
- 400M Free -- 3:53.75 (Previous Record: 2012 Olympian Tyler Clary -- 3:54.12, 7/31/2007)
- 800M Free -- 8:03.44 (Previous Record: Matthew Chai -- 8:07.22, 4/3/2022)
- 1500M Free -- 15:16.42 (Previous Record: Matthew Chai -- 15:32.34, 3/31/2022)
Each of these perfomances rank Matthew on the USAS All-Time Top 100 list: 1500M Free (28th), 800M Free (44th), 400M Free (67th).
