Three big boxes of toys and sports items were donated by the team over the last few weeks. Thanks so much to everyone who gave so generously and thanks to senior Cera Mallory for organizing our toy drive. Way to go FAST!

Congratulations to our Winter Age Group competitors. The WAG crew displayed great toughness and team spirit. The 25 member squad produced the following highlights: 46 new personal best times 16 new National Age Group Motivational times (6 "AAA", 7 "AA", 3 "AA") 2nd place finish in the Girls 13-14 800 Free Relay (Sydney Cruz, Isabella Zia, Eveline Grannis, Ratana Miller) Congratulations to all!

Notching 132 personal best times this past weekend, 51 FAST swimmers raced in strong fashion. While recording numerous new Winter Age Group Championship times, the continuously improving squad also produced 46 new National Age Group Motivational Time Standards: 2 "AA" 7 "A" 20 "BB" 17 "B" FAST will be in action again in Palm Springs, CA at the WAG Champs. Congratulations to all and good luck to those competing again this week.

The FAST Holiday Toy Drive will begin tomorrow, December 1 and run through December 13. Please bring unwrapped toys and/or sports equipment to the Janet Evans Swim Complex when you come to practice. Bins for donations will be outside the pool office. All gifts will be for the Spark of Love 2022 -- 30th Anniversary campaign. After a two year absence due to COVID restrictions, FAST National group athletes recently traveled to Honolulu for the Hawaiian Senior Championships. Facing strong competition from all the islands as well as teams from California and Arizona, the FAST squad of 10 swimmers finished in 5th place overall. Additional highlights: 45 personal best times 21 new National Age Group Times (9 "AAA", 7 "AA", 5 "A") Mahalo and congratulations to all!

FAST had way more than two outstanding performances this past weekend at the BREA meet. In fact, 45 team swimmers combined for 143 personal best times and many new qualifying standards for our winter championship meets. 73 new USA Swimming National Age Group Motivational Times we also achieved: 2 "AA", 21 "A", 33 "BB",17 "B" Congratulations to FAST swimmers and coaches. Keep up the great work (and bunny ears).

At the Kevin B. Perry Memorial meet last weekend FAST swimmers continued to improve as they moved further into the fall season. Achievements were as follows: 10 New USAS National Age Group Times (1 "AAAA", 7 "AAA", 2 "AA") recorded by 6 swimmers Carter Lavold, Huy Le, Ty Leon Guerrero, Jaxx Miller, Ratana Miller, Ayanna Thompson 2 New USAS Futures Cuts Jaxx Miller --First-time cuts in 1000 & 1650 Yard Freestyle FAST will continue focusing on improved performances as the team moves towards the December season-ending championships. The Island Time fundraiser last Saturday proved to be a huge success. By raising nearly 85% of the target goal, the new timing system will now be a reality. With all levels of FAST athletes participating, from the smallest 8 & under to the heartiest 80 year old, the wide diversity of ages who swam proved that swimming is indeed a lifelong sport. Congratulations to our Week 4 "Island Time" Fundraiser individual winners. By raising a combined $2,500 in one week, Victorie Ruge ($1,000), Ty and Luke Leon Guerrero ($750 each) were our top female and male fundraisers for the week. The National Age Group squad took the team contest with $2,345 raised, while 2nd place went to National with $2,050. 3rd place went to the Masters team $1,750, 4th place Junior with $1,410, 5th place Senior with $630, 6th place Varsity with $275, and FAST Development raised with $100.
