With the addition of coaches James Gallagher and Keith Moore the FAST staff gains a significant amount of experience on and off the deck. Their combined 68 years of coaching lift the FAST staff total to an incredible 116 years of on-deck knowlege. The first annual FAST Blue vs. White intrasquad meet was a great success and the perfect season starter event for 2021. FAST athletes meet garnered 269 personal best times! There were numerous exciting, close races, especially for the ARENA Hot Heats which awarded towels to the winners. In addition to competing in the 2020 Olympics Trials this past June, Sonora High School Senior Matthew Chai broke two 17-18 FAST team records in the past year. On November 12, 2020 he swam the 800 Meter freestyle in 8:08.21 to establish a new mark (Previous Record: Tyler Clary-- 8:12.10, 8/22/2006). On January 23, 2021 Matthew reset the 1500 Meter time with a 15:39.65 (Previous Record: Tyler Clary--15:40.84, 8/7/2006). Congratulations Matthew!

Sunny Hills Senior Kailee Chow has committed to attend the University of Hawai'i in the Fall of 2022. Kailee is a Junior National qualifier and will be strong addition to the Rainbow Wahine squad. Congratulations Kailee!

Junior National qualifier Josh Miller will be heading to Southern Methodist University this fall. Josh will be moving to Dallas this month and is excited to start his collegiate swimming career as a key part of the Mustangs' excellent distance group. Good luck Josh!

Alexander Min raced to two podium finishes this past weekend at the USAS Futures Championship in Santa Clarita, CA. Alex, who will be attending the University of California, Berkeley in the fall, finished 8th in both the 800M and 1500M Freestyle events. His 800 time of 8:28.83 was his first Junior National cut and qualifies him to compete in Austin, TX in December. Congratulations Alex!

This past weekend at the USAS Futures Championship in Santa Clarita, CA, rising senior Kailee Chow swam a 200M Butterfly time trial and finished in 2:18.21. This qualifies her to compete in the Winter Juniors Championship on December 8-11, 2021. Congratulations Kailee!

FAST finished a great summer season with a third-place team finish at the Summer Junior Olympics meet in Riverside, CA. This was the highest overall JO finish in the last ten years. Congratulations to all the athletes and coaches on a job well-done!

While successfully hosting the CA/NV Summer Sectional Championships (South) FAST swam to an outstanding overall team victory.
